Show notes
- Ninja Action
- Introductions
- Overview
- The game is eerily similar to Castlevania
- Most of what you’re gonna hear me say are improvements I would also apply to Castlevania
- The game is eerily similar to Castlevania
- Gameplay
- Jumping
- I had a love hate with this.
- Knockback
- At least enemies can’t knock while you’re on ledges
- Wall Climb
- Do you think you should’ve had spider-man abilities?
- Weird Quirks
- Death if you fall into a place your supposed to climb down
- 5-2 is where the programmers failed us with the impossible jump AND other quirkst
- Annoying Enemies
- Boss Fights
- Pretty easy tells, but I would’ve expected more action
- Story
- Who was expecting cutscenes like Golgo 13
- over 20 minutes of cinematic cutscenes
- The acts are like an actual TV Show
- Who was expecting cutscenes like Golgo 13
- Personal Improvements
- Knockback
- Jumping
- Platforms should be more clear
- Jumping
- Development
- Famicom first - Legend of the Dragon Sword
- It was developed and released around the same time as the beat 'em up arcade version of the same name; neither of the games were ports of each other but were parallel projects developed by different teams.
- Made largely because Ninja’s were having a North American renaissance
- Sequels and Spinoffs
- 2 more NES games
- Ninja Gaiden Trilogy
- Much like Super Mario All-Stars
- Ninja Gaiden OVA
- Xbox Games
- The reputation of these difficult games held Ninja Gaiden as a series away from me.
- Everyone MUST play The Messenger
- EGL
- My highest recommendation
