Show notes
- Help Marty McFly fix the past to save the future
- NES Longplay
- Introductions
- One of the most fun movies of all time.
- The classic chase scene between Marty and the killer bees
- The looney tunes hijinx when Marty threw a bowling bowl at that girl with the hula hoop
- Or when Marty fought off 100 thugs at a diner
- One of the most fun movies of all time.
- Overview
- The player controls Marty McFly through various stages set in 1955 in which he collects various clock icons in order to advance to the next level
- Gameplay
- The idea of Buying time wasn’t a theme in the movie.
- Two power-ups can help improve Marty's control
- bowling balls that can destroy enemies
- and a skateboard which can speed up gameplay.
- The “Bonus Games”
- Marty repelling Biff Tannen's gang of bullies from a cafe
- blocking all the kisses Lorraine sends Marty (in the shape of little hearts)
- Ah, I can’t get kissed by my mom
- She is shooting her love rapidly and in constant zig zags
- Why does this look just like the diner?
- and having to position his guitar properly to stay in tune at the dance in order for George and Lorraine to kiss.
- The music coming to the guitar instead of out of it
- The guitar is like a net and you have to catch the notes
- In the final stage, Marty gets to control the DeLorean time machine on the street at night, dodging lightning bolts and obstacles while accelerating in such a way as to reach 88 miles per hour (142 km/h) precisely at the end of the stage, enabling the time machine to bring Marty home to 1985.
- Thankfully you can’t exceed 88mph and it’s actually a pretty short stage
- Music
- The game only contains two songs from the film. One is a sped up version of "The Power of Love" which plays throughout most of the game; the other is "Johnny B. Goode," which plays in the guitar level.
- "Tough luck Marty! It looks like you are stuck here."
- Who got it worse? BttF or Ghostbusters?
- Sequels and Spinoffs
- 3 Back to the Future games before this that all actually look more jank
- We will play BttF Part 2 and 3 on the NES as well but only as one game
- Deep Cut - Universal Studios Theme Parks Adventure
- a game where you explore the theme park and go on the rides. The BttF ride was a very interesting fun arcade adaptation on the GameCube
- The most recent adaptation - Back to the Future The Game. A Telltale game
- EGL
- NEStalgia Byte - Exerion and Formation Z
- Next week - Back to the Future
