  • 1986 side-scrolling shooter game by Irem for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Although published in North America directly by Irem itself, technical support inquiries for the game was handled in this region by Brøderbund since Irem didn't have an American branch at the time.
  • Item is the company behind R-Type. This is Irem’s first Original game for NES.
  • However, in the Japanese version, the message came from the United States of America's Pentagon
  • Gameplay
  • A lot going on
  • What’s up with the sharks?
  • Creative enemy patterns
  • Freeing Man-Ham aka Humans
  • Fuel
  • Basically, you need to replenish your fuel to stay alive, and you can do so only in two ways: rescue nine men, or else get at least one gold ingot and one man (the single man is necessary to discharge the ore on the ship). The gold hidden by crabs acts therefore as a shortcut to get fuel if you aren’t able to collect enough men within 60 seconds, but you always need nine men to receive a weapon powerup.
  • Setting
  • Earth is underwater
  • People are trapped in little cages
  • Sqoon is expensive $60 for loose, 600 for complete
