47 - BreakThru
OUR THOUGHTS
MIKE
There eventually comes a time in a console’s lifecycle when the games from the early times of release are no longer recognizable. Gamers are so starved for new experiences early on that they will likely buy any new experiences they can before the floodgates open and every third party company is releasing a few games each month to fight for your wallet. I think BreakThru is the game that finally crosses that line. I had never heard anything about it until it came time to play it for NEStalgia and a week after playing it I have totally forgotten about it. It’s a little shocking how forgettable BreakThru is, but that doesn’t mean the nostalgia has worn off for all. If you were a fan of this game back then, I wouldn’t recommend going back now. It’s so short, so simple and straightforward that I couldn’t possibly say anything else about it.
THE VERDICT - NOT ESSENTIAL
