OUR THOUGHTS

MIKE

I can't believe that Nintendo still loves this game. I can't fathom that Miyamoto was involved. This whole this is really puzzling. This game is experienced in two minutes and even those of you who decide, "yes, I'd like to keep going" surly will eventually run out of strategy/determination/patience. It's so bare bones and yes the two or three set pieces are cute little touches, but this game insults Nintendo in my eyes. They should have at least packed more into this cart.

JOE

It's kind of like Nidhogg but without the fun. The best I can say for this game is that it tries to implement a unique and potentially interesting gameplay mechanic. However, it doesn't do so well in execution, which leaves this game firmly on my personal "Skip It" list

SEAN

If I wanted to be crass, I would say that playing Urban Champion is like playing a rapid succession of Rock, Paper, Scissors matches over and over until you get bored. Actually, I can't think of any other way to describe it other than that. Joe's Nidhogg comparison is apt, they look similar if you squint, but it just feels like a direct insult to Nidhogg to even mention it in the same breath.

THE VERDICT - NOT ESSENTIAL
